Vice-Chancellor Abdul Rahman outlines plan to Congregation for FULafia devt.
As part of efforts to take the University to unprecedented heights, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has presented what he termed as his strategic plan to develop the University.
He presented the plan during the first meeting of the University Congregation under his chairmanship.
Abdul Rahman disclosed that his administration would be based on the three core values of the University – integrity, innovation and excellence.
He said that his administration would enforce code of ethics for staff and students, champion and promote openness and encourage research and scholarship.
While listing some challenges such as mismanagement of information and time, manipulation of sentiments, hypocrisy, sycophancy and gossip as stumbling blocks for the good administration of the University, Abdul Rahman said that he would work with the organs, units, committees and stakeholders of the University to remove impediments to good administration.
The vice-chancellor stressed the need for workers to be actively engaged in their official duty, advising heads of departments to ensure that their staff are not redundant.
He called on staff to join hands with him to take the university to greater height.
