VC Abdul Rahman marks 100 days, co-authors book on fmr. V-C Liman

Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), said his reason for co-authoring a book about his predecessor, Professor Muhammad Sanusi Liman was to document his achievements.
The book, titled: “Beyond Expectations: The biography of Prof. Muhammad Sanusi Liman”, was written by Abdul Rahman and the Director of Advancement and Linkages, Prof. Mallam Al-Bishak.
Delivering his address at Ta’al Conference Hotel in Lafia, the vice-chancellor said “we have to say the truth whenever truth should be said,” describing Liman’s achievements as “enormous, deep rooted, and pervasive that they were felt, acknowledged, and acclaimed by virtually every member of the University Community and, indeed, all stakeholders of the University.”
While highlighting the attributes of Liman to include wisdom, intellectualism, calmness, integrity and experience, he expressed his satisfaction for completing the book which he said he had promised to write when he assumed office as the vice-chancellor on February 11, 2021.
Abdul Rahman thanked his co-author of the book, Prof. Al-Bishak for his support and diligence as well as prompt submission of scripts, saying that “it is not an easy task to write and present a book in just three months.”
The chairman of the occasion, Professor Shamsudeen O.O. Amali, a former vice-chancellor of the University of Ilorin and Nasarawa State University Keffi, commended the authors of the book for a job well done.
He said the publication, done in recognition of a former vice-chancellor was auspicious and timely.
He said that liman possessed an “inimitable administrative efficiency which eliminated all forms of bureaucratic bottlenecks and achieved his set goals for the young University.”
While explaining the Amalian two theories of Culture and Change, he urged Abdul Rahman to follow the footsteps of Liman to improve on what has been done.
The royal father of the day, His Rayal Highness, Mai Sidi Bage Muhammad 1, the Emir of Lafia, said that he was highly honoured to grace the occasion of the book written in honour of his son, the former vice-chancellor.
He advised Abdul Rahman to “follow the leadership style of Liman, with some modifications, to achieve successes.
The highlights of the events included drama and dance performed by the Theatre and Media Arts students of the FULafia.
The occasion was graced by distinguished scholars, government functionaries, eminent personalities, traditional rulers and well-meaning Nigerians from all walks of life.
