NYAN confers Jarman Matasan Arewa title on FULafia V-C

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has been conferred with the esteemed title of Jarman Matasan Arewa / Amazon of Educational Development by the Northern Youth Association of Niagara (NYAN).
The President of the association, Comrade Godiya Adams Bogoro, who led other executive members of the association to the University, said that the recognition accorded Abdul Rahman was in appreciation of his outstanding contributions to youth empowerment, philanthropy, human capital development, educational advancement, as well as his effective leadership in managing both human and material resources for national development.
Comrade Bogoro highlighted NYAN’s commitment to promoting youth welfare through empowerment and sensitisation initiatives aimed at nurturing a self-reliant, entrepreneurial and productive generation.
He said that the association was especially focused on equipping young people and women with tools needed to make meaningful contributions to society.
In his response, Abdul Rahman expressed his deep appreciation for the honour and commended NYAN for its efforts in youth development.
He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to fostering development of both students and staff of the University.
He said that the central focus of his leadership agenda “is to train and empower young people to become leaders.”
He urged the association to sustain its impactful work to ensure a brighter and more productive future for the country’s youth.
The event was graced by key University officials including the Registrar, Malam Nuradeen Abdu, Bursar, Dr Wilson Daniel, and University Librarian Professor Abiodun Iyoro.
The event culminated with the decoration of the vice-chancellor with the award’s insignia.
