MSSN to Abdul Rahman: It’s like you’ve been here longer

The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) Chapter, has commended Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman on his milestone achievements as a vice-chancellor.
The MSSN gave the commendation when leaders of the association paid a courtesy visit to the vice-chancellor in his office at Lafia.
The Ameer (Leader) of MSSN, Yusuf S. Abubakar, who led the team, applauded the vice-chancellor for his achievements within one year in office.
“We are here to appreciate and congratulate you for a successful one year in office and we have felt your impact as students,” he said, adding: “The University held series of conferences that attracted educationists, politicians and technocrats within and outside the country under your leadership.
“We have enjoyed good students and staff relationship, clean environment for learning and promotion of the core values of the University.”
The members of the society said they were happy with the vice-chancellor over his son’s ability to successfully memorise the Holy Qur’an.
The amir said that “we want to use this opportunity to congratulate your son for the wonderful achievement.”
The MSSN presented an Award of Excellence Plaque to the vice-chancellor for his giant strides in FULafia and a gift to his son (Abdul Rahman Jnr.).
Responding, Rahman appreciated the MSSN for the visit, expressing his gratitude for the award given to him and the gift to his son.
He called on the MSSN members in FULafia to be agents of love and peace on campus and live by example.
Abdul Rahman cautioned students against social vices advising them to live in accordance with the rules and regulations guiding the institution.
“Good performance and safety of students is my priority, that is why issues relating to security and health of students is my concern,” said Abdul Rahman.
The vice-chancellor thanked the students for regularly participating in the monthly sanitation exercise, calling on them to continue with the good relationship among staff and students.
He said: “Irrespective of our faith, we should continue to love and respect one another, that way, you all will be remembered one day for your good deed.”
