Let’s support one another, Aleruchi tells female colleagues

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Aleruchi Chuku, has called on women to always support and encourage one another and work as a team to succeed.

The deputy vice-chancellor said: “We can only rise by lifting others.”

Aleruchi made the call when she received officials of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) in her office in Lafia, recently.

She said that women have great potentials and play essential roles in workplaces, urging for continued collaboration among them everywhere they found themselves.

She commended the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman for creating a system and working environment that support women and fosters gender equality.

Aleruchi urged women in the University to use their skills and knowledge to contribute to the development of the system and support the Abdul Rahman-led administration to succeed.

Speaking earlier, the Women Leader of SSANU in the University, Mrs Becky Kajo, appreciated the deputy vice-chancellor for the opportunity she gave them to meet with her.

Becky said the group was in the office to congratulate her on her recent appointment to the position of deputy vice-chancellor and wish her a successful tenure in office.

Also speaking, the Head of the Staff Productivity Promotion Unit of the University, Mrs Hellen Bello, commended Aleruchi for her dedication and commitment to duty, saying that her appointment was a confirmation that hard work pays.

She advised the new appointee to remain focused on the mandate given to her and shun unnecessary distractions.

Mrs Bello commended the vice-chancellor for appointment women into various leadership positions since his assumption of office, assuring him that those appointed would not fail him.

The women prayed that the Almighty God grant Aleruchi good health and wisdom to succeed.
