|By Musa Ishaq

Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), received in his office, at Lafia, a student of FULafia who has won the NUGA Gold Medal, Mr Daniel Madu Ogechukwu.

It would be recalled that in the 2022 Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA), held in Lagos, Ogechukwu, a 400-level student of the Department of Social Work, won a gold medal in judo while two others from FULafia, namely, Favour Aboki and Gata Bridget, won silver medal, each, in karate.

Having won the gold medal, Ogechukwu would now represent Nigeria, in July, at the World University Games in Germany (WUG).

The vice-chancellor who was visibly elated by the news of the successes and achievements congratulated him and all the FULafia contingent who have projected the image of the University in good light.

Abdul Rahman wished him well at the WUG.

He said the University would support him to achieve success at Germany 2025.

Earlier, while presenting Madu to Abdul Rahman, the Chairman of the Sports Committee, Prof. Victor S. Dugga, said they were in the Vice-Chancellor’s Office to receive Abdul Rahman’s blessings ahead of the WUG.

Those who accompanied Madu to the Vice-Chancellor’s Office included the Head of Sports Directorate, Isa Muhammed Ozegya, and other staff of the directorate.
