The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, has reappointed Bashir Ozomata as his Personal Secretary.
Also appointed by Abdul Rahman are Musa Bashir Agbawu and Haruna Angulu, who maintain their positions as Special Adviser and Personal Assistant, respectively.
However, unlike in the past when they were appointed for a period of two years, their latest appointment would, for each, run for three years.
In their separate letters of reappointment, signed by the Registrar of FULafia, Malam Nuradeen Abdu, the appointees were advised to continue in their tradition of loyalty and hard work.
In his letter, Ozomata was praised for his courage and dedicated services to the University.
According to the letter, the reward for hard work is appreciation, calling on Ozomata to view his reappointment as a commendation for his efforts.
The letter urged Ozomata to continue to be resourceful in his work and remain true to the services of the University and humanity.
Ozomata, while reacting to this development during an interview with the FULafia Bulletin, thanked the vice-chancellor for the honour done to him, promising not to take his reappointment for granted.
He praised the vice-chancellor for trusting him, saying: “I thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve you. Together, we have changed the narratives of university administration from personalisation of powers to working for a thriving system.”
Ozomata prayed to Allah to continue to bless Abdul Rahman, saying that when he was initially appointed, “I did not know it was going to be a great platform for me to begin another journey and experience that will expose me to a higher level in administration and human management.”
The three personal aides to the vice-chancellor were handed their letters of appointment by Abdul Rahman during a brief ceremony in his office today.
Present at the ceremony was the former director-general of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), General Shu’aibu Ibrahim, who called on the appointees to remain loyal to their boss, Abdul Rahman.
He reminded them that hard and dedication to their work took them to their current positions, pointing out that they must work harder to “remain where you are.”
