FULafia V-C inaugurates deans, director, CPDD chairman

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has inaugurated the newly elected deans and chairman of the Committee of Provosts, Deans and Directors of the University.
Also inaugurated was the Director, Centre for Security Studies, Muhammad Tanko Aliyu, the immediate past dean of the Faculty of Arts.
During the event which took place at the Management Information System Multipurpose Hall at the Permanent Site Campus of the University, the vice-chancellor said that the inauguration marked a significant milestone in FULafia’s journey towards excellence.
He urged the officials to uphold integrity and accountability, emphasising that their emergence was based on merit.
Abdul Rahman emphasised the importance of democratisation, transparency and teamwork in achieving the University’s goals, calling on the new officials to leverage their networks, develop leadership formula and align their activities with the University’s vision and mission.
Abdul Rahman commended the immediate past deans, deputy deans and directors for the passion they had shown, especially in advancing the development of the University.
He used the occasion to commend ASUU, FULafia Chapter, for working with the Management of the University to ensure the democratisation of leadership positions and promotion of some staff.
In his welcome address, the Registrar of the University, Malam Nuradeen Abdu, thanked the vice-chancellor for facilitating the event and encouraging teamwork.
In their separate goodwill messages,
Professor Aleruchi Chuku, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Prof. Victor Dugga, Provost, College of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Emmanuel Kwon-Ndung, Director, Centre for Energy Studies, and Chairman, ASUU, FULafia, Dr Sunday Orinya, all encouraged the appointees to carry everyone along and invest in their faculty’s development.
Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated officials, Prof. Mohamed Kida, the Chairman of CPDD, thanked the vice-chancellor for the confidence he reposed in them, promising to work collaboratively to develop the institution.
