FULafia V-C condoles Taraba State Government, Traditional Council over Aku Uka”s demise

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia, FULafia, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has led some officials of the University to condole with the Wukari Traditional Council over the demise of the Aku Uka of Wukari and Chairman, Taraba State Traditional Council of Chiefs, Dr Shekarau Angyu Masa Ibi Kuvyo II.

The late monarch was, until his demise, the chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia.

He passed away in the ancient town of Wukari, in Taraba State, on October 10, 2021.

The first point of the condolence visit was the palace of Sarkin Ibi, Alhaji Abubakar Salihu Dan Bauro II, where the delegation of the vice-chancellor’s delegation, led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Idris O.O. Amali, commiserated with the Ibi Traditional Council over the death of the Aku Uka of Wukari, Dr Shekarau Angyu Masa Ibi Kuvyo II, who died at the age of 84 after he spent 45 years on the throne.

The vice-chancellor said that he received the news of the death of Aku Uka of Wukari, Dr Shekarau Angyu Masa Ibi Kuvyo II, with shock and disbelief, urging all to take solace in the fact that the late Aku Uka left “legacies of love and peace that are worthy of emulation.”

In his response, Sarkin Ibi, Alhaji Abubakar Salihu Dan Bauro II , commended Abdul Rahman and members of the University community for their show of concern and respect, describing the late Aku Uka, Dr Shekarau Angyu Masa Ibi Kuvyo II as a father to all.

He said: “He was a father to all, and that was what he exhibited when he was alive, he was a generous man of no comparisons. On behalf of Ibi and Wukari Traditional Council, other traditional councils in Taraba State, the government and people of Taraba State, we are very grateful for this important condolence visit.”
