The Staff Productivity Promotion Unit of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has organised a two-day training for the technical staff of the Physical Planning Unit (PPU).
The training, held at the Faculty of Agriculture Lecture Auditorium, was in line with the vice-chancellor’s policy of improving staff productivity through regular training and retraining.
Declaring the training open, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, said that human capital development can only be achieved through regular training of staff.
He said that training of the PPU technical staff was intended to help them eliminate waste, ensure optimum utilisation of resources and enhance their productivity.
Abdul Rahman encouraged all heads of units to regularly organise in-house training for their staff, pointing out that doing so would develop quality of staff and add value to the University.
While thanking the resource persons for their services, he advised the participants at the training to utilise the opportunity given to them to improve their knowledge.
The vice-chancellor commended the Staff Productivity Promotion Unit for organising the training, promising to continue to support the unit in that regard.
Welcoming the vice-chancellor to the venue of the training, the Head of Staff Productivity Promotion Unit, Mrs. Helen Bello, thanked him for supporting her unit, assuring him that the unit would continue to meet the objectives for which it was established for.
The resource persons at the training were QS Muraina Aderemi, FNIQS, who presented a paper on the effective monitoring and supervision of projects, construction activities and ARC. Warkani Marcus Yakubu, MNIA, who lectured on proper articulation of briefs and designs for proposed projects.
