FULafia to revolutionise e-learning, says Abdul Rahman

The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) is poised to revolutionise its e-learning process
to improve the University’s standards and quality.
This was made known by the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, when he received a team of ICT experts from Sheffield Nigeria Ltd. who visited the University to showcase a cutting-edge smart board technology.
The event was held at the University’s Old Senate Chamber, Permanent Site Campus.
Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Professor Aleruchi Chuku, Abdul Rahman emphasised the importance of embracing global trends in technology and innovations to improve teaching, learning, research and collaborations.
He noted that the smart board technology aligned with the University’s mission to provide transformative education and good resources to its students.
He said that the Management of the University was committed to providing students with the best possible learning experience, adding that the smart board technology has the potential to make a major impact.
Abdul Rahman said: “To ensure seamless integration into the new technology, training will be necessary to unlock the full potential of the smart board, particularly its student-friendly multimedia and specialised software.”
He called on the E-learning Task Force Committee of FULafia to “play a key role in facilitating this process.”
Speaking on behalf of the Company, the team’s, leader, Mr Shehu Ibrahim, who represented Mr Saeed Olalekun, said that the smart board offers a range of features beyond traditional note-taking, including painting, drawing, integration with Google Classroom and data storage.
“These features are designed to enhance student engagement and participation in e-learning classes,” he said.
Demonstrating the technology, Ibrahim highlighted the smart board’s capabilities in enhancing interactive classes for staff and students.
The University’s E-learning Task Force Committee members were present at the meeting to get acquaint themselves with the device’s capabilities.
