FULafia matriculates 8,000 students for 2024/2025 academic session

The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) held its matriculation ceremony for a record-breaking 8,000 new students into its diverse undergraduate programmes for the
2024/2025 academic session.
The Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, at the venue of the matriculation, reiterated the University’s commitment to upholding its core values, namely, integrity, innovation and excellence, and steering students away from social vices.
The event was held at the University’s Sports Complex, Permanent Site Campus, Lafia.
The vice-chancellor, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs, Professor Aleruchi Chuku, highlighted the University’s development since its inception in 2011, currently boasting of a wide array of academic programmes and research opportunities for its students.
With a vision of becoming a leading global institution renowned for producing well-rounded graduates, Abdul Rahman urged the matriculating students to adhere to the University’s rules and actively engage in all academic activities.
He underlined the importance of students promptly their completing registration process as a crucial step in formalising their enrollment and embracing their academic journey wholeheartedly.
Abdul Rahman restated the University’s firm stance against misconducts and cultism, cautioning students against engaging in any form of anti-social behaviours.
In order to maintain a conducive learning environment, he directed students to adhere to the University’s dress code and conduct regulations, underscoring the repercussions of non-compliance.
Emphasising the need for collaboration among parents, guardians and the University, Abdul Rahman called for the reinforcement of the institution’s core values to nurture the future generations of leaders.
With unwavering faith in the students’ capabilities to excel academically and positively impact their communities, he extended his best wishes for their educational pursuits, urging them to uphold their commitment to hard work and ethical conduct as they journey through university life.
The matriculation ceremony saw parents and guardians witnessing the beginning of their children’s higher education endeavours and marked the start of an exciting chapter in the students academic and personal development.
