About Us
The Staff Productivity Promotion Unit (SPPU) was created by the third Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman on February, 11th 2021, as one of the Units in the Directorate of Linkages and Advancement.
The pioneer Head of the Unit was Prof. Adofu Ilemona. Then, on June 3rd, 2023, Mrs. Helen Bello, a Senior Deputy Registrar was appointed as the new Head, Staff Productivity Promotion Unit. In August, 2021 the Staff Productivity Promotion Unit was removed from the Directorate of Linkages and Advancement and domiciled in the Office of the Vice Chancellor as a Unit directly under the Vice Chancellor’s supervision.
Location
The office space allocated to the Staff Productivity Promotion Unit is at the basement of Mallam Adamu Adamu lecture and office complex, in the permanent site of the University.
Our Mandates
The Unit coordinates the following activities:
a. Write proposals for capacity building programmes based on identified areas of training need/or as directed by the Vice Chancellor for staff of the University
b. Organise capacity building programmes relevant to various categories of staff to enhance their performance
c. Enlist the services of high level professionals as resource persons for the specified training programmes.
d. Provide the resource materials to participants at the end of each training programme.
e. Produce certificates of participation for all participants at the training programmes.
f. Write and submit reports of each training programme to the Vice Chancellor
