Aim and Objectives Aims and Objectives of the Department of Psychology  Aims: Advance Knowledge: To contribute to the advancement of psychological science through rigorous research, scholarship, and innovation. Educate: To provide a comprehensive and transformative education in psychology that prepares students for careers in academia, research, clinical practice, and beyond. Serve: To serve the community by applying psychological knowledge and expertise to address societal challenges, promote mental health and well-being, and advocate for social justice. Foster Collaboration: To foster interdisciplinary collaboration and partnerships both within the university and with external stakeholders, enhancing the impact and relevance of psychological research and practice. Promote Diversity and Inclusion: To cultivate a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the department, valuing the perspectives and experiences of all individuals. Objectives: Conduct Cutting-Edge Research: To conduct innovative research that advances understanding of human behavior, cognition, and emotion across diverse populations and contexts. Offer High-Quality Education: To deliver high-quality undergraduate and graduate programs that provide students with a strong foundation in psychological theory, research methods, and practical skills. Programmes
Programs: Undergraduate Programs: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology: Provides a broad foundation in psychology, covering areas such as cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, social psychology, and abnormal psychology. Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology: Similar to the B.S. program but may have a stronger focus on liberal arts and humanities, allowing students to explore psychology within a broader context. Graduate Programs: Master of Science (M.S.) in Psychology: Offers advanced training in psychological research methods, theory, and application. May include specializations such as clinical psychology, experimental psychology, or industrial-organizational psychology. Master of Arts (M.A.) in Psychology: Similar to the M.S. program but may place more emphasis on applied psychology and practical skills. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Psychology: A research-focused program that prepares students for careers in academia, research institutions, or applied settings. Specializations may include cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, counseling psychology, etc. Professional Programs: Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.): Emphasizes clinical practice and prepares students for licensure as clinical psychologists. Includes extensive supervised clinical training. Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) with a Concentration in Clinical Psychology: Provides training in both social work and clinical psychology, preparing students for roles in counseling and mental health services.
