The Business Education Programme at the Federal University of Lafia offers a comprehensive Curriculum designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for success in the dynamic world of business.
Through a blend of theoretical coursework and practical experiences, students delve into various aspects of business Management, finance Marketing accounting, office technology management and entrepreneurship.
The Programme emphasizes critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and leadership skills, preparing graduates to Excel in diverse career paths such as banking, marking, accounting and entrepreneurship.
Faculty members bring both academic expertise and industry experience to the classroom; ensuing students receive a well-rounded education that is relevant to today’s business landscape.
Additionally, students have access to internship opportunities, research projects, teaching practice, and extra – curricular activities that enhance their learning and professional development.

Accounting Education:
To prepare and equip students with equalized act behaviour reproducing cognitive, effective, psycho – motor and competent skills. Thus, it serves as training of graduates accountants and accounting officers.
Marketing Education:
This offers an in depth training in marketing and business and then prepares students the skill set to teach what you learn across a wide range of professional path ways from the class room to corporate and training environments.
Office Technology Management:
This prepares students with a wide range of subjects related to careers in the modern office of today. This Programme OTM provides the ability and training necessary to perform successfully in the many and varies clerical secretarial and office administrative positions

With a PhD from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria Dr. Haruna brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role.
As the head of Department of Vocational and Technical Education, Dr. Haruna plays a pivotal role in shaping the academic direction of the department, overseeing curriculum development, and student affairs. He is deeply committed to fostering a supportive learning environment that empowers students to excel academically and professionally. Admission Requirements
Requirements for admission:
Entry requirements into department of vocational and technical education:
1. Credit pass in five (5) subjects including English language and mathematics at not more than two sittings at O`Level.
2. Specific B.Sc.(Ed) Business Education Requirement:
(a) Credit pass O`Level in at least two (2) business subjects.
This is in addition to the credit in English language and mathematics stated under the general departmental requirement.
(b) NCE holders with a minimum of `C’ in Business Education into 200 Level. This is without prejudice to the requirements stated in (1) and (2) above
Direct Entry Application:
Priority will be given to candidates with relevant qualification in Business Education.
a. A pass at merit level in a relevant Diploma Programme provided the university English requirement has been satisfied.
b. (i) Two (2) passes in relevant subject area at advanced level with SSCE/GCE O’Level credit passes in three other subject areas as not more than two (2) sittings or
(ii)Three (3) passes in relevant subject areas at advance level with SSCE/GCE O’Level.
c. (i) Passes in two (2) major subjects at merit level or credit or its equivalent in three (3) other subjects. Education is accepted as a third ‘A’ level subject.
(ii) Two (2) passes at IJMB ( Interim Joint Matriculation Board), examination or Cambridge moderated Schools of Basic Studies Terminal Examinations in International Baccalaureate from a recognized institution with school Certificate credits equivalent in three other subjects ( subject or University requirements).
(iii) Three passes in C (ii) above with a School Certificate credit or its equivalent in there other subjects. The above qualification in ‘C’ (i) apply to students in colleges of Education to qualify for admission in the B.Sc.(Ed) Degree Programme.
d. English Language and Mathematics requirements in all cases, whether by direct entry or JAMB, a credit in English Language and a pass in Mathematics at the senior or School certificate/Secondary equivalent are required for business education.
