Emir of Lafia joins hands with FULafia to start teaching hospital
The Emir of Lafia, HRH Sidi Dauda Bage, has promised to work with the authorities of Federal University Lafia (FULafia) for the realisation of the university’s teaching hospital.
The university, which started medicine (MBBS) programme, recently, and got a donation of hospital from the Nasarawa State Government, has yet to get its teaching hospital running because of some logistical issues.
The emir said that the importance of the hospital, when it becomes functional, to the state cannot be overemphasised, adding that “we must join force to make sure it starts working.”
The Lafia emir spoke when the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Professor Muhammad Sanusi Liman, led the management team members of the institution on a congratulatory visit to the new emir in his palace at Lafia.
The emir, who lauded the vice-chancellor for his achievements, especially the establishment of the university teaching hospital, urged the authorities of FULafia to work harder to make the budding institution one of the best in Nigeria.
The emir expressed his surprise with the speed at which the university is growing, promising to do his best to assist the university.
The royal father called on the university to inculcate the spirit of discipline and hard work on the students in order to produce good graduates.
Earlier, the vice-chancellor thanked the emir for his fatherly concern for the university’s development.
He appealed to the emir to assist the university to commence operation of its teaching hospital.
