Emir of Awe expresses confidence in a better FULafia with Prof. Abdul Rahman as V-C
The Emir of Awe, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Isa Abubakar Umar II, has said that with Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman as the vice-chancellor, the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) is on course to be counted among the best in Africa.
The emir stated this when Abdul Rahman visited him at his palace in Awe.
Alhaji Umar II described Abdul Rahman as a manager of human resources, adding that “the successes he has witnessed, no doubt, made me to believe that he would surpass the gigantic accomplishments recorded by his predecessor.”
The traditional ruler assured the vice-chancellor and the University community of his council’s support, calling on members of the management team of the University to work together with the vice-chancellor to achieve success.
The vice-chancellor, who spoke earlier, told the emir that his visit was to express his appreciation to the emir for his prayers and support to the University and seek the royal father’s blessings.
“I want you to continue to support me because doing so will enable me provide the kind of leadership that the University needs to develop,” the vice-chancellor said.
He called on the people of Awe to see themselves as critical stakeholders of the University and contribute to the process of sustaining peace and security in the institution.
Those who accompanied the vice-chancellor on his visit to the visit included the deputy vice-chancellor, Professor Idris Amali, registrar, Dr Abubakar Mamuda, bursar, Mr Daniel Wilson, Provost College of Medicine, Professor Ahmed Yakubu Ashuku, Professor Malam Al-Bishak.
