As FULafia V-CFAC submits report, Abdul Rahman says review of financial manual ‘ll chart new course

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has said that the Vice-Chancellor Financial Advisory Committee (V-CFAC) report will help the University achieve its mission and vision and facilitate financial management.
The vice-chancellor stated this when the V-CFAC Committee, led by its chairman Dr Steven Uvara, a former bursar of the University, submitted its report to him at his office in Lafia.
The vice-chancellor, who thanked members of the committee for the job done, expressed his administration’s determination to move the University forward from where it met it.
Abdul Rahman, while promising to consult widely, pointed out: “When I came onboard, I found out that things are being done randomly and only few people were involved.”
He, however, said that since his assumption of office, things have started taking their proper shapes, adding that “with the committee system now in place, everyone’s involved in how the University is managed.”
Submitting the report to the vice-chancellor, Uvara said that the maiden V-CFAC report took them a little time because they needed to do a through job.
Uvara said that the report contained 2015 and 2020 draft financial manual and recommendations of the committee on how to ensure effective and efficient management of resources.
Uvara, while thanking the vice-chancellor for the confidence reposed on them, said that the members of the committee believed in promoting strong and robust financial management system.
The committee members present during the report presentation included Dr Adofu llemona, Dr Joshua Aba, Mr Ityonzughul Orkuma, Mr Ovye Aboki, Barr Nafisah Musa, Mr Sa’idu Bawa and Mr Zubairu Mohammed.
