The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has thanked members of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), FULafia Chapter, for their professionalism and cooperation to his administration.
Abdul Rahman spoke when a delegation of ANUPA, led by the chairman, Simon Onah, paid him a courtesy visit.
Professor Abdul Rahman particularly praised ANUPA for its excellent works in the University, saying that the association was working in line with the core values of FULafia of integrity, innovation and excellence.
He commended the association for its zeal to train good administrators without which, the vice-chancellor said, the University could not survive.

He, however, urged the association to work harder to improve on the existing quality of its members, saying that now, unlike in the past, “administrators must be efficient, effective, imaginative and resourceful in order to remain relevant in the system they operate in.”
He called on the leaders of the association, therefore, to organise frequent training, seminars, meetings, conferences for their members to learn new things in modern day administration.
Abdul Rahman said: “I will support you and we will work together as a team to develop the administrators in the University and achieve more successes in the University.”
The Chairman, ANUPA, FULafia Chapter, Mr Simon Onah, thanked the vice-chancellor for his support to the association, saying that the association was working very hard to improve the current level of administration in the University.
“We are prepared to partner with you to achieve success in your tenure and also make this University one of the five best in Africa,” said Onah.

Also speaking, a former executive of the association, Mr Paulinus Auta Michael, said that since the establishment of the University, the association has worked closely with the management to achieve the desired objectives of the University.
At the end of the visit, Onah, on behalf of the association, presented a souvenir to the vice-chancellor in recognition of his contributions to the association, in particular, and development of the University, in general.
Other ANUPA members who attended the event were the Head, Staff Productivity and Promotion Unit (SPPU), Mrs. Helen Bello, and Head, SIWES, Mrs. Offiongita Nkang.
