The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has commended the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) providing power to the University.
He, however, called for better working relationship between the agency and FULafia with a view to boost power supply in the institution.
The REA collaborates with the National Universities Commission (NUC) to provide uninterrupted electricity supply to universities under a programme known as the Federal Government Energising Education Programme (EEP).

Amali informed them that the University was building new hostels, laboratories, auditoriums, offices and lecture halls, among others, pointing out that “without electrification the University cannot achieved its mission.”
Amali told the team that FULafia was established in 2011 “and, since then, the University has been competing favourably with other sister universities and, in the process, it has witnessed tremendous growth and development.”
He assured the agency of the University’s support, advising the officials not to take part in any deals that could be detrimental to the University.
Earlier, Mr. Johnson Adejor, told the vice-chancellor that they were at the University to introduce some consultants to the authorities of University charged to work with the University on a solar hybrid mini grid power plant.
He said that the consultant would conduct an environmental and social impact assessments in the University.
