Welcome to Department of Glass & Silicate Technology
Introduction
You are welcome to the Department of Glass and Silicate Technology, which is one of the newly created Departments in the Faculty of Environmental Design and is situated at the Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. The Department is the first of its kind in the North-Central region of Nigeria and the second in the federation. As a Department that is established in the home of Solid Minerals (Nasarawa State) of the Nation, it takes great pride in its outstanding facilities for teaching and research, as well as its dynamic and highly qualified faculty and support staff. We offer degree programs in Glass and Silicate Technology i.e. B., M.Sc., and Ph.D. programs. Additionally, we give industry-based field professionals with the chance to refresh their skills through certificate and diploma programs in Glass and Silicate Technology as well as Scientific Glass Blowing. Our graduates possess modern, applicable, and proficient skills in the general discipline of glass and silicate technology. They also acquire and possess mixed skills in related fields such as Chemistry, Computer Science, Physics, Geology, Mathematics, and Technology, in addition to their knowledge of both traditional and modern aspects of the profession. We give candidates thorough training to become proficient, up-to-date glass and silicate technologists capable of handling the demands of the glass industry in the twenty-first century. Additionally, we make sure that our graduates are deeply ingrained with the values of equity, discipline, devotion, patriotism, sincerity, and entrepreneurship. We cordially encourage you to sign up for one of our programs; you'll be glad you did. Warm regards.
