FULafia Dept of Industrial Design holds workshop for staff, students.

In order to encourage postgraduate supervisor and supervisee engagement, the Department of Industrial Design, Faculty of Environmental Design at the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) recently organised a workshop for its staff and postgraduate students.
The workshop, titled: “Microsoft Word Tools for Cost-Effective Thesis/Dissertation Review and Supervision: Response to Current Economic Realities,” was held in the Lecture Room A, Faculty of Environmental Design Complex, Permanent Site Campus, FULafia.
Welcoming participants to the workshop, the Head of the Department of Industrial Design, Dr Jonathan Okewu, said that the workshop was aimed at providing participants with valuable insights and practical skills to improve their research activities.
He stated that the workshop aligned with the vice-chancellor’s commitment to sustainable academic conferences, seminars and workshops and providing staff and students with opportunities for professional development and capacity building.
The workshop facilitator, Dr. Negedu shared his expertise on utilising Microsoft Word tools to streamline the thesis and dissertation review process, making it more cost-effective and efficient.
He said that by leveraging technology and innovative tools, the University aims to enhance research and academic outputs.
The training session was well-attended by faculty members and postgraduate students, notably Prof. Samaila Usman Dakyes and Prof. Salihu Maiwada, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research and Partnerships at FULafia.
