NALV partners FULafia to strengthen Arabic programmes

The Nigeria Arabic Language Village (NALV), Ngala, Borno State, would collaborate with the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) promote teaching and learning of Arabic language programmmes in the two institutions.
The partnership, it is believed, would lead to sharing of resources, expertise and experiences between the two institutions.
The Director and CEO of NALV, Professor Ibrahim Muhammad, made the collaborative decision known when he led his executive members on a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, in his office, recently.
Muhammad said that the importance of strengthening ties between the two institutions informed the decision for the collaboration with a view to advancing knowledge in Arabic studies.
He said: “The envisaged partnership between NALV and FULafia is seen as an opportunity to develop joint programmes, research and training and elevate Arabic language programmes in both institutions.”
Expressing his gratitude for the visit, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman welcomed the idea of partnership with the NALV, acknowledging the expertise of NALV in Arabic language studies.
He expressed his eagerness for success of the partnership for the benefit of FULafia.
Abdul Rahman, however , said that FULafia would review the draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) submitted by the NALV with the aim of formalising the collaboration soon.
He said that both the NALV and FULafia would work closely to promote Arabic language studies, staff training and exchange programmes.
Abdul Rahman said that the collaboration “is poised to bring about significant advancements in Arabic language education in Nigeria.”
Also present at the meeting were Professor Mohammad Aliyu Tanko, the Chief Imam of FULafia, and Dr. Idris M. Muhammad, the Head of the Department of Arabic Language in FULafia.
