Within a year Abdul Rahman exceeds our expectations, says Dan’Asabe

As the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Abdul Rahman, approaches one year in office, peace, stability and robust academic activities on campuses have been identified as some of his greatest achievements.
The Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Dr Abdullahi Jibrin Dan’Asabe, made the identification in an interview with the FULafia Bulletin, recently.
Dan’Asabe, however, attributed the achievements recorded by the vice-chancellor to the cooperation he enjoyed from staff, students, trade unions, host community and, of course, the security personnel, who, he said, used to patrol the nooks and crannies of the University in both campuses.
The dean identified other achievements recorded by Abdul Rahman to include cleanliness of campuses and entrenchment of public, faculties and departmental lecture events.
He said: “The vice-chancellor has set up environmental and sanitation committee and introduced a monthly sanitation exercise to ensure that we have a clean environment. The result is that on entering the campuses, an atmosphere of cleanliness is readily witnessed.”
He equally named the construction of road with others soon to be constructed as other great achievements of the vice-chancellor.
The dean added that promotions were carried out successfully with the vice-chancellor promising to democratise elections into the Students’ Union Government (SUG).
Dr Dan’Asabe said that under the administration of Abdul Rahman, 16 disciplines were accredited by the NUC while others are being vigorously pursued.
He expressed his confidence that “the dream of the vice-chancellor to make FULafia one of the best universitied in Africa will soon be accomplished.”
The dean, therefore, urged staff and students of the University to give their maximum cooperation to the vice-chancellor and his management team, assuring them that the “next four years of Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman will witness complete transformation of the University.”
