Osuko of Obi tasks FULafia Community on peace and development

The Osuko of Obi, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aliyu Dangiwa Ogiri Orume, has tasked members of FULafia community to work together for peace and development of the University.
The traditional ruler of Obi Chiefdom made his call when the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, paid a courtesy visit to him in his palace in Obi.
The monarch, who expressed his appreciation for the visit, said that he joined the entire people of Obi Chiefdom to congratulate the vice-chancellor on his recent appointment.
Alhaji Orume called on the university to admit more indigenes of Nasarawa State in medical and agricultural courses to enable them become self-reliant and employers of labour after graduation.
He prayed God to grant Abdul Rahman good health and wisdom to discharge his responsibility effectively and efficiently to the glory of God and humanity.
Earlier, the vice-chancellor told the Osuko that he was in his palace to seek the royal father’s blessing and cooperation needed by him to discharge his responsibilities creditably well.
He called on the people of Obi to support “the University to ensure that peace, security and progress are achieved and sustained.”
Those who accompanied the vice-chancellor on his visit to the palace included the deputy vice-chancellor, Professor Idris Amali, registrar, Dr Abubakar Mamuda, bursar, Mr Daniel Wilson, Provost, College of Medicine, Professor Ahmed Yakubu Ashuku, Professor Malam Al-Bishak and some staff of the University.
