FULafia V-C promises inclusive administration

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia, (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has promised to run an all-inclusive administration in the institution.
Abdul Rahman made the promise when he welcomed a delegation from Nasarawa Emirate, led by the Chairman of Nasarawa Town D evelopment Association, Lafia Branch, Justice Isa Ahmed Ramalan.
Running an open door administration, the vice-chancellor said, would allow people make contributions on how the University is being governed and instil sense of belonging in all.
The vice-chancellor, who expressed his profound joy with the visit, restated his commitment to ensuring that the University attained a world class standard for the benefit of the people of Nasarawa State.
“I am delighted to receive this important delegation because the members are not here on their own, they are here on behalf of the emir of Nasarawa, to show solidarity with me as I work to improve the standard of this University.”
He used the opportunity of the visit and thanked the emir of Nasarawa and members of the delegation of the Nasarawa Town Development Association, Lafia Branch, for their congratulatory messages shortly after his appointment, in February, and prayers for his success in office.
He said: “I want to use this opportunity to welcome you all to Federal University of Lafia and to say that I am very happy with your coming. I really appreciate this courtesy visit. In the Nasarawa Emirate, I can say we are privileged, particular in Nasarawa State, because in the two universities we have in the state, the emirate produces the two vice-chancellors.
“This is a very great opportunity that Almighty Allah has given us, it is now left for us to utilise the opportunity Allah has blessed us with and if we misuse it, we don’t know when this type of opportunity will come again.”
Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman urged them to remain steadfast, contribute their quota to nation building and continue to pray for leaders at all levels to succeed.
In his response, the leader of the delegation, Justice Ramalan, said they visited Abdul Rahman to formally congratulate him on his appointment as the third vice-chancellor of Federal University of Lafia and wish him luck in the discharge of his responsibility.
Ramalan said: “We know your track record and we are proud of your leadership. We want to pray that Almighty Allah give you wisdom to pilot the affairs of the University with a view to making it one of the best in Africa.”
