Abdu was, recently, appointed by the Governing Council of FULafia as the third registrar of the University while LSUF is the umbrella association of Lafia indigenes working in FULafia. A pioneer director has been appointed for the Muhammadu Buhari Institute for Research and Training (MBIRT). He is Dr. Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, currently the Head of Department of Physics, Federal University of Lafia. The MBIRT is a newly built multi-millionaire Naira Research Laboratory Complex at the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) that was, recently, named after President Muhammadu Buhari.
