FG to provide lasting solution to flood in FULafia, says SGF Akume

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume, has said that the Federal Government would address the problems of reoccurring flood in Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), lamenting that floods ravage peoples’ properties during every rainy season in the country.

Akume spoke during a recent meeting he held with the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal University of Lafia, Hon. (Mrs) Lola Fibisola Akande.

The meeting took place at the Office of the SGF (OSGF) in Abuja.

Lamenting the devastations caused by flooding during rainy season, the FULafia Council Chairman, Hon. (Mrs) Lola Fibisola Akande, appealed to Sen. Akume to use his office to help FULafia overcome the problems of flooding.

She presented some pictures of flooding devastated areas in FULafia and the plan on how to address the problem to Sen. Akume.

Seeing the pictures presented to him by Hon. (Mrs) Lola Fibisola Akande, Akume, visibly disturbed by the sad images, promised to do something before the next raining season to address bad situations.

The Pro-Chancellor and Council Chairman of FULafia, Hon. (Mrs) Lola Fibisola Akande, was accompanied to the SGF’s Office by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Partnerships, Prof. Sama’ila Usman Dakyes.
