FULafia to establish studio for online lectures

The Federal University of Lafia, (FULafia) is set to establish a “lecture studio” to enhance on-line teaching and learning in the University.
This development was made known by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, when he declared open a three-day workshop on “Digitisation of lecture notes for commercial value,” organised by Management of FULafia in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education for deans, directors and heads of departments preparatory to the commencement of the online lecture in the University.
The workshop was titled: “A digitalisation workshop on production, benefits and commercial value of lecture notes in compact disc, flash drives and online platforms with standardisation of courses for tertiary institutions in Nigeria.”
The vice-chancellor, saying that the workshop was beneficial to the University, stated that FuLafia had already digitalised staff and students’ records, adding that development of lecture notes in compact disc, flash drives and online platforms would lead to efficiency of staff and the University, in general.
Abdul Rahman urged the participants to step-down the training in their departments for the benefit of other lecturers.
Speaking during the training workshop the resource person, Dr. Gbenga Ahmed Yusuf, a tertiary education technology consultant emphasised the need for universities to improve their learning methods.
Yusuf listed the benefits of digital learning to include “improvement in the standard of education, reduction of stress for lecturers and indulgence of students on social media, elimination of problems associated with course transfer from one lecturer to another, ease of download on electronic devices, provides revenue for tertiary institutions and it is environment-friendly.
