Vice-Chancellor interacts with faculties, says e-learning way to go

The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, has visited faculties in the University, recently, to remind them of their roles and his expectations of them.
The interaction train, which first stopped at the Faculty of Arts, has since moved through the faculties of agriculture, science, social sciences, environmental design and college of medicine.
At each faculty, Abdul Rahman met with the dean and academic staff to deliberate on academic and administrative issues.
Abdul Rahman’s engagements focused on some key areas, namely, e-learning, mentorship, teaching, character development and leadership.
Other areas he discussed with the lecturers included staffing, preparations for upcoming accreditations, early processing of promotions and the timely uploading of staff profiles on the University’s website.
He encouraged the leadership and staff of the faculties to embrace collective decision-making, provide channels for student feedback, and take of collaboration with stakeholders seriously.
He advocated for the formation of what he called the faculty management committee to help strengthen internal leadership and governance.
In their responses, the deans commended the vice-chancellor for his proactive leadership and open-door approach to administration.
They expressed their appreciation for his continued support and pledged to implement the suggestions he made during the visit.
Meanwhile, the vice-chancellor is expected to continue his visit to other faculties in the coming days as part of his efforts to improve academic standard in the University.
