FULafia set to partner ANAN University on training and research

As part of its efforts to collaborate with institutions and agencies in the country, the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) plans to partner with the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) University, in the area of training and research.
The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) University is an institution of excellence established to provide quality university education in the specialised field of accountancy and allied subjects in Nigeria.
The decision to collaborate with ANAN University was made known during a tour of facility in Lafia belonging to ANAN University.
The facility shall be handed over to FULafia for the training of accounting students after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between FULafia and ANAN University, soon.
Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, disclosed that he recently received a letter in that regard from the vice-chancellor of ANAN.
Speaking after the tour, Abdul Rahman said that the Management of FULafia was happy with such development.
He said that the University would continue to seek ways of collaboration with other institutions and agencies for training and research.
Abdul Rahman appreciated the Management of ANAN University for releasing the facility to FULafia to use for training and research in the area of accounting.
Expressing his appreciation to the Dean of Management Science, Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, the Head of Accounting Department, Dr Tijani Ahmed Ajayi said: “This collaboration with ANAN University will not just stop here, there are a lot of things we can share together. Once we sign the MoU, a lot of activities will be unfolded so that we can have a robust exercise for our students.”
Speaking, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Partnerships, Prof. Sama’ila Usman Dakyes, appreciated the Vice-Chancellor of ANAN University for agreeing to partner FULafia in the area of giving students the best training, adding that his office was committed to bringing more developmental opportunities in the University.
Also speaking, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Prof. Aleruchi Chuku, said that “this, indeed, will add value to our students.”
Earlier, the Head of Department of Accounting, Dr Tijani Ahmed Ajayi, who led the tour to the Accounting Knowledge and Research Opportunity (AKARO) Centre in Lafia, said that the collaboration was in line with Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman’s led administration’s policy in the area of collaboration, assuring the vice-chancellor that the accounting department and the faculty would leverage on the opportunity to train students in the area of accounting technology.
Members of the delegation included the special assistant and personal secretary to the vice-chancellor, Dr Musa Bashir Agbawu and Mr Bashir Ozomata, respectively, and Ag. Director of Centre for General Studies (GST), Dr Alhassan Abdulkareem.
