Wakwa community honours Abdul Rahman for outstanding leadership

The Wakwa Development Association, Lafia, Nasarawa State, has conferred an Outstanding Leadership Award on Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia).
The award ceremony took place at the Old Senate Chamber, Permanent Site Campus of the University.
Hon. Adamu Sule Liman, a former member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, who spoke on behalf of Comrade Hassan Ali, the Chairman of the association, said that the award recognised Abdul Rahman’s exemplary leadership style in managing the University’s affairs.
He said that the Wakwa community appreciated Abdul Rahman’s contributions to their development, particularly in the areas of admission of students and employment for qualified individuals.
Liman pledged the community’s continued support and collaboration with the University.
In his response, Abdul Rahman thanked the association for the award and promised to continue supporting the host communities.
He also acknowledged their cooperation in ensuring peace and development within the University, urging them to intensify efforts in eliminating criminal elements and creating a conducive learning environment for students.
Others in attendance at the event included Prof. Aleruchi Chuku, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Malam Nuradeen Abdu, Registrar, and Abdulrazak Baba Abdulrahman, Dean of Student Affairs.
