FULafia vice-chancellor charges youths on honesty

The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has advised youths to think and act rationally as part of their contributions to the process of Nigeria’s development.
The vice-chancellor gave the advise when members of the Igbira Youth Movement paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Lafia.
Abdul Rahman urged youths to cherish the value of integrity, saying: “In any profession you find yourself, be dedicated to your duty, be honest and contribute your quota to our national development.”
He cautioned the youths against involving themselves in unwholesome behaviours that could tarnish their individual and collective image.
As an Egbira, he reminded the Egbira youths that he had always worked to serve humanity and promote the image of the Egbira nation.
“I’ll forever use my position to serve humanity,” he said, calling on the youths to, at all times, remember to invite him to be part of their activities.
Abdul Rahman also appealed to them to create activities to promote education in their area.
Earlier, in his speech, the President of the Igbira Youth Movement, Nasarawa State, Comrade Mamud Shuaibu Ohimege, said that they visited to wish Abdul Rahman good luck in his new assignment as the vice-chancellor of FULafia.
He said that owing to the pedigree of the vice-chancellor, his appointment “did not come to us as a surprise.”
Saying that the vice-chancellor had always associated himself with the activities of the association, the president pledged the support of his group to ensure that the vice-chancellor succeed in office.
