Use your experience to develop FULafia, Andoma urges Abdul Rahman
The Andoma of Doma, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aliyu Ahmadu Aliyu Oga Onawo, has advised the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his administration of the University.
Andoma of Doma gave the advice when he received the vice-chancellor and members of his management team in his palace in Doma.
The traditional ruler said that FULafia was lucky to have as its head, a distinguished scholar and seasoned administrator in the person of Abdul Rahman, calling on staff of the University to cooperate with the “vice-chancellor in order to develop the institution.”
The Andoma recalled some of the successes attained by Abdul Rahman when he served as the pioneer vice-chancellor of the Federal University Gashua, Yobe State, saying that “if he was successful in another state, he has no reason, working in his own state, not to supercede his previous accomplishments elsewhere.”
The royal father told his guests that with his doors left open for them, they should not hesitate to approach him for advice, promising to contribute his quota to the development of the institution.
Earlier in his remarks, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman had told the Andoma that his management team members visited him to receive his royal blessings.
The vice-chancellor promised to discharge his duty with the fear of God and with a view to moving the University to next level of development.
Abdul Rahman urged the Andoma of Doma to help the management of the University, particularly in the area of maintaining and promotion of discipline.
He said that only discipline in the University would help the University achieve its vision.
While soliciting support of the traditional institution to enable him succeed, thanked the Andoma for his role in maintaining peace and development of Nasarawa State.
Abdul Rahman was accompanied to the palace by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Idris O. Amali, Registrar, Dr. Abubakar Mamuda, Bursar, Mr. Daniel Anjola Wilson, University Librarian, Dr. Abiodun Olaide Iyoro, Deputy Registrar, Dr. Abubakar Hassan Ahmed II and other staff of the University.
