FG plans to build new hostels in FULafia, minister tells Abdul Rahman
If everything goes according to the government’s plan, and it appears they will, new hostels would be built in Federal University of Lafia (FULafia).
The hint for building the hostels was dropped by the Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukuemeka Nwajuiba, in the premises of the University.
The minister was in the University to pay an unscheduled visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman.
Nwajuiba, who inspected some offices and buildings at the Permanent Site Campus, said that plans have reached advanced stage to construct new hostels to accommodate the increasing number of students in the University.
He appealed to the staff and students to develop and sustain culture of maintenance, saying: “Government put structures in place with the hope that they’ll be properly maintained.”
The minister commended the vice-chancellor for maintaining discipline at the University, urging him to continue with his good work.
While welcoming the minister, the vice-chancellor thanked him for finding time, during his one-day visit to Nasarawa State, to come to the University.
Abdul Rahman said that the University had many reasons to thank the Federal Government, listing some of the interventions of the government in FULafia to include roads, buildings and equipment.
