Dr. COMFORT OJOMA UKWELA

    Dr. Comfort Ojoma Ukwela holds PhD (2016), Masters (2004) in Mass Communication from Benue State University, Makurdi. 

    She also holds B.A Hons in Theatre Arts (1990) from University of Jos. 

    She is a scholar of Entertainment-Education, Gender Issues and Development Communication. 

    She began her working carrer as a broadcaster with Radio Benue Makurdi, Benue State, 1990; Concord Newspapers 1991-1995; Nigerian Television Authority 1995- February 2018; Federal University, Lafia February 2018 to date.

    As a professional broadcaster, Dr. Ukwela has specialised in Television production, presentation, News casting, Documentary, Directing, Human resource training/development and Management.

    Dr. Ukwela is a Fellow of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and Member of African Council for Communication Education (ACCE).

    Dr. Ukwela is a regular participant at NIPR and ACCE conferences among others.

    She is presently undergoing a research work titled "The Media, Skipping Through The Rope of Marginalization"

The Federal University Lafia is a recently established University situated in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State in 2010 by the Goodluck Jonathan administration as one of the nine new Federal Universities established in the six geo-political zones of Nigeria.
