Abdul Rahman was variously depicted as a developmental adminirator and champion of progressive changes.

The depictions were by the students of the Department of Theatre and Media Arts, popularly called TMA, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), when the students, recently, different theatre performances to delight and satisfaction of viewers.

The performances were staged to honour Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, who, according to the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Okpe Okpe, has introduced many changes in the process of administering FULafia.

Okpe, represented at the event by the pioneer dean of the faculty and current Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies, Professor Victor Dugga, specifically, highlighted the element of transparency displayed by Abdul Rahman and "his ability to carry everyone along as he pilot affairs of the University as wonderful and worthy of emulation by other administrators."

The event, which involved stage dances, drama, singing, comedy and animated videos, attracted the presence of the vice-chancellor who could not hide his amazement as he keenly watched the performances.

Speaking, the vice-chancellor thanked the especially the performers, describing them as "very fine examples of the University."

The vice-chancellor called on the authorities of the department, in particular, and the faculty, in general, to keep doing the good works that they were known for, saying that without them, the students "who have today performed to our delight could not have done so."

He stated that owing to the selflessness of the TMA staff, the department has recorded great achievements, one of which was getting full accreditation for their courses from the NUC on first attempt. 

Responding to complaints about inadequate staffing and equipment at the faculty made by some speakers, the vice-chancellor, represented by the Director of Academic Affairs, Professor Moses Ikoh, promised that the complaints would be looked into with a view to addressing them.

The colourful ceremony attracted many seasoned academics among whom were Prof. Josephine Odey, Dr Comfort Ukwela, Dr. Steve, Professor Abah Okwute and Dr Alemoh Thomas who delivered the vote of thanks
