Liman announces the commencement of degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Law, thanks to Senate

The Senate of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has approved the commencement of a degree programme in pharmaceutical sciences and law.

The vice-chancellor of the university, Prof. Muhammad Sanusi Liman, stated this during a special breakfast meeting attended by members of the Senate of the university.

The meeting was organised to celebrate some milestone developments witnessed by the university, especially the recent approval of 18-degree programmes to be offered by the university, among which are MBBS, nursing and radiology.

The programmes were, this week, approved for FULafia by the National Universities Commission (NUC), after its verification teams were sent to FULafia to ascertain the level of preparedness of the university to offer the approved degree programmes.

Liman, who was visibly elated by the development, attributed the successes recording by the university under his leadership to the commitment and dedication of the Senate members to their works.

He thanked them for extending their hands of cooperation to him, saying: "This is the fruit of our collective works and desire to develop our university. Without your cooperation and loyalty, I couldn't have achieved this success alone. My big thank you to you all."

Speaking earlier, the institution's deputy vice-chancellor, Prof. Idris Amali, commended the vice-chancellor for providing "the kind of leadership needed to nurture a young university like ours."

Similarly, the registrar, Dr Abubakar Mamuda, on whose instance the breakfast meeting was summoned, said that words cannot describe his joy "now that FULafia has started these degree programmes, particularly MBBS, and all this happened because of one man, our indefatigable vice-chancellor."

Others who spoke at the occasion praised Liman for spearheading the transformation of the university, pledging to continue to give their all to the Liman-led management team.
