The Registrar, Federal University of Lafia, (FULafia), Dr. Abubakar Mamuda, says the university would always consult the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in matters affecting students.

Dr. Mamuda stated this when the Association's Vice-Chairman, Joint Campus Committee, Comrade Uba Madaki, and members of his team paid him a familiarisation visit in his office at Lafia.

Mamuda praised the union's officials for always defending the rights of students, expressing his happiness with the award conferred on him by the union.

He said: "I'm grateful for this award because it's not easy for people to appreciate achievements of public of´Čücials."

He said the management of the university was thankful to NANS for recognising the achievements witnessed in the areas of academics and facility development.

The Registrar highlighted some of the other developmental projects provided by the management under the able leadership of the FULafia Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammad Sanusi Liman, to include 24/7 electric power supply, availability of potable water, roads and free medical care.

Mamuda called in students to concentrate on their studies, saying that “Nigeria needs a generation that is well educated to take the realms of government.”

Speaking earlier, the Vice-Chairman, joint campus committee, comrade Madaki, said they were at his office to familiarise themselves with the university and present an award of excellence to the Registrar for his commitment to uplifting the standard of education in Nigeria.

Other members of NANS in the company of the Vice-Chairman included, Comrade Oche Celestine, Director of Travelers Zone C from Benue State, Comrade Kaseem Muhammed, Ex-Officio from Kogi State, Comrade Isa Abdullahi Mustapha, Director of Programmes from Nasarawa State, Comrade Grace Mbah, Secretary and Comrade Safiya Adam, the union's treasurer.
