The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia, FULafia, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, admonished the first graduating students under the Central Bank of Nigeria (Tertiary Institutions Entrepreneurship Scheme (CBN-TIES) training programme to be innovative and productive.

Abdul Rahman made this statement during the closing ceremony of an event which took place at the Centre for Entrepreneurial Development at the Permanent Site Campus, FULafia.

To mark the end of the training programme, the CBN gave grant to the participants.

The CBN-TIES is a programme organised by the Federal Government to train students in various entrepreneurial skills with a view to making them self-employed and employers of labour after their graduation.

In his opening remarks, Abdul Rahman, represented at the event by the Director, Centre for Entrepreneurial Development, Dr. Ilemona Adofu, appreciated the FULafia graduating students for being the first set of trainees and recipients of the CBN-TIES training programme. 

Abdul Rahman emphasised the vice-chancellor's penchant for trainings, advising the graduating students to work towards attaining the aims and objectives of the training.

Abdul Rahman called on the participants to always regard FULafia as their starting point, saying: "FULafia is your home. You are free to come and exhibit what you have learnt to our undergraduates."

Speaking, the Head of Administration, Centre for Entrepreneurial Development, Mrs. Francisca Ngaji Iortim, appreciated the participants for their achievements, advising them to train others in the society the knowledge they had acquired. 

Aliyu Isah Musa, a graduating student and also a beneficiary of the programme, thanked the University and the CBN-TIES for the opportunity to get trained.

He said that the graduating students were ready to apply the their knowledge for the betterment of the University and the society.

Staff of the Directorate were present at the event which climaxed with the presentation of certificates to the graduating students.
