The members of the Igala community in Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), under the auspices of the Igala Nation in FULafia, has commended Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman for what the community described as his inclusive and progressive leadership style. 

The commendation was made during a courtesy visit by members of the Igala community on the vice-chancellor in his office, recently.

Speaking, Dr Adofu Ilemona, who led the delegation, said that they visited the vice-chancellor to congratulate him on his appointment and to tell him that members of the Igala Nation were pleased with his leadership style since he took over as the third vice-chancellor of FULafia in February.

Ilemona, who is the Director, Centre for Entrepreneurial Development, FULafia, said that the vice-chancellor's policy of inclusivity which was evident in his fair distribution of appointments, has unified, and strengthened cooperation among, members of the University community.

He said: "Your administration is working with the best from diverse background."

The Igala nation promised to support the vice-chancellor to develop the University, praying God to grant him in good health and wisdom to continue to discharge his responsibilities.

In his response, the vice-chancellor expressed his appreciation to the Igala nation for the visit, saying that all he has achieved was due to the cooperation and meaningful contributions he received from members of the University community.

He said that he would continue working to make the University greater than he met it.

Abdul Rahman called on staff to work harder to complement his efforts aimed at repositioning the University.  

Those who went with Ilemona to the vice-chancellor’s office included Raphael Umoru, Dr. Joseph Igono, Dr. Isiaka Hassan Imam, Dr. Mrs. Comfort Ukwela, Mr. Abel Sunday Edibo, and Mr. David Edibo Musa.  

Others were Mr. Ibrahim Shuaibu, Mrs. Rabi Ojochenemi, Mrs. Joy Achimugu, Mr. Ibrahim Muhammed and Mr Emmanuel Idakwo.
