Biography

Godwin Uzoji is a sculptor trained at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria for B.A (2006) and MFA degrees (2015). He currently Lectures at the Federal University of Lafia, where he has taught Sculpture since 2012. He finds his expression in conception art, while his creative energies are channeled towards creating art that is inspired by socio-political issues. His current research trajectory dwells on the studio perspective to politics of ethnicity and exclusion. Godwin has exhibition robustly and participated in several art competition. In 2016 he won the Grand Prize of the Nigeria National Art competition, organized by the African Artist Foundation, and sponsored by Nigerian Breweries in Lagos, Prior to this, in 2015 he emerged top 12 of the Life in my City Art Festival in Enugu.
