I Saulawa Bashir was born on 30th October 1967 to the family of Alh. Sani Mande in Katsina State. 

I Started Primary school in 1973 to 1979 at Gidado Primary Katsina where I obtained Primary school leaving Certificate.

I proceeded to Government College Katsina in 1981 and graduated in 1987 where I obtained my WAEC result.

 I later gained Admission to Bayero University Kano in 1991 to 1996 where I obtained my B.A(Combined) in Hausa/Mass Communication. I went for my NYSC in Kwara State in 1996/1997. I later got employment with Kwara State college of education Oro in November 1997.

I did my Postgraduate diploma in education with national teachers institute kaduna, Ilorin study centre in 2006. I did my M.A in Hausa literature with Bayero University Kano in 2017. I later got employment with Federal University of Lafia Nasarawa State in September 2019 till date. I also got admission with Ahmodu Bello University, Zaria 2018/2019 academic session to read PhD African literature.

I am presently the Coordinator Nigerian Languages department, Federal University of Lafia.
