My name is Hassan Sani, I hailed from the Ancient city of Keffi, in Nasarawa State, Nigeria. I spent my early years in a town called Zuba in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja where I had my Basic education then moved to Keffi at around 2008 to complete my secondary school. There at Keffi, 2010, I was matriculated in Nasarawa State University and I was awarded a Bachelors of Science (Hons.) in Biochemistry from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in the year 2015.

Currently I am working as a Graduate Assistant at the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Science, Federal University of Lafia, Nigeria.

I am an enthusiastic academic scientist with special interest in Neuroscience, aimed at understanding how toxins, drugs and nutrients affect the biology and physiology of the nervous system.

Others areas of interest are Drosophila research, Bioinformatics and Genomic Medicine. In our lab we use computer softwares such as R and Python to analyse biological data.

My favourite research model is the fruitfly, We use the fruitfly Drosophila melanogaster as an efficient tool to study genetics, reproduction, neuronal functions and toxicology.

My long-term goal is to establish a Drosophila and Neurogenetics research centre for the study of diseases such as Neurodegeneration, Diabetes, Infertility and Toxicology using the fruitfly.

My extra activities include Science schools outreach, Science communications and Public engagements.

My major open door sport activities are football and running.
