Biography

Eko O. Eko holds M.Sc and B.Sc degrees in Economics from the University of Calabar, Nigeria. His research interest is primarily on development studies, with special focus on sustainable development financing. He is currently a researcher and teaching staff at the Federal University Lafia, Nigeria, and also provides voluntary teaching service at Arthur Jarvis University, Akpabuyo, Cross River State, Nigeria. His skills for research and data analysis has seen him through successful transition in the Federal University Lafia, where he first served as an econometrician and now Assistant Lecturer within one year. He possesses good numerical and analytical skills for conducting economic modelling and data analysis using econometrics and statistical packages such as STATA, EVIEWS, SPSS, R and Excel.

His drive for inclusive growth and development has also seen him through active participation in country-wide surveys and studies. Recently, he has served as supervisor in a World Bank/CADP sponsored survey on prospects of expanding investment in cocoa processing in Cross River State. He also served as Bayelsa state team lead in an impact assessment survey of microfinance banks and institutions in Nigeria, a survey sponsored by the Central Bank of Nigeria. Eko is the co-founder and programme director at Inxpire – a network of young entrepreneurs, academics, artisans and craftsmanship, whose primary focus is on developing cutting-edge innovations in business and industry through ideas incubation and support groups. His passion for human development has also inspired a number of community development services where he has contributed immensely in reducing extreme poverty and hunger, youth unemployment, and boosting enterprise development, with abounding success stories.

Eko is a member of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES). He is also a certified member of Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). Some of his recent publications are provided below.
