Biography

Aleruchi Chuku is an Associate Professor of Medical Microbiology with special focus on Medical Mycology, of the Department of Microbiology, Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. She holds a B.Sc. from the University of Port Harcourt, M.Sc. from Atlantic International University Honolulu, M.Phil., Ph.D. from Rivers State University of Science and Technology and is an Associate of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (AMLSCN).
Dr. Aleruchi Chuku is an experienced and committed lecturer with over 15years of teaching experience. She is a member of many professional bodies including International Society for Human and Animal Mycology (ISHAM), Mycological Society of Nigeria (MYCOSON), Nigerian Society for Microbiology (NSM) and American Society for Microbiology (ASM). She has several published research papers and reviews and is also involved as a peer reviewer to several local and international journals. She has several ongoing research interest which include Long- Term Preservation of Fungi Isolates, Genetic Morphology of preserved Isolates, Public health effect of moulds contracted through environmental conditions and necessary contact and the Cost effective methods of fungi preservation in developing countries.
She is a seasoned and eloquent public speaker with great presentation skills, an astute organizer who loves and enjoys working with teenagers.
