Biography

Dr. Fred Ekpe Ayokhai is a Senior Lecturer with the Department of History and International Studies. His research interest is on African Economic and development history;inter-group relations; peace, conflict and security studies gender studies; Niger Delta studies; Benin studies; colonial and post-colonial African studies. He teaches both undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in the Department of History and International Studies. he supervised several undergraduate and Postgraduate students especially the Master Students. He is the former Head of Department of history and International Studies from 2017-2019 and currently the Assistant Postgraduate Coordinator of the Department. His a mentor to several of his junior colleagues, students, ex-undergraduate and postgraduate students. his a member of the Historical Society of Nigeria (HSN). He published papers in reputable International and national journals and contributed chapters to several books. He co-author a book with A.E. Caulcrick  title "Concepts in Historiography: Essays in Honour of Olayemi Akinwumi. He attended and presented papers in several conferences both national and international. His a scholar per excellence.
