Faculty of Environmental Design

About Us
The Faculty of Environmental Design was approved to commence operation as a full-fledged faculty in August, 2019. It was initially under the Faculty of Arts as Department of Visual and Creative Arts. The following programmes were approval for the Faculty by the Senate of the University.

To put in place Faculty of Environmental Design anchored on global best practice and comparable to the top ten world class universities that will pull together the very best academics from within and without who will impart functional and productive knowledge for sustainable economic development.
To produce highly trained, skillful, creative, productive and innovative entrepreneurs who will man Nigeria’s industries for sustainable economic development. Train excellent personnel who will become company technocrats, ICT mangers, intellectuals, educators and the nation’s future leaders.
Dean's Profile
The notion that a professional adviser is just like any other provider of a service to a dominant consumer has become more widespread. One reason for this is that professional advice has become more commoditized, as in the case of routine legal services; another reason is that some consumers/clients themselves have their own way of thinking.

The Faculty of Environmental Design’s core values are: professional integrity, creative innovation and professional excellence which are in line with the university’s most cherished central values
The programmes in the Faculty of Environmental Design have their specific aims and objectives, which are summarized as follows: I. Developing and implementing dynamic academic programmes which consolidate existing knowledge in the built and natural environments and respond to the challenges of modern developments. II. Producing world class graduates that can relate with global perspectives to resolve local challenges. III. Having a synergistic relationship with the community and the industry for national development.
The Faculty has been resource verified by the Nigerian University Commission and has been given approval in a letter dated October 31, 2023 to run the following programmes: • B. Sc Architecture • B.Sc Building • B. A Fine Arts • B. A Industrial Design These programmes would commence in the 2023/2024 academic Session. Postgraduate programme The Faculty has commenced Postgraduate programs programmes which include; MA/PhD in Textile, Ceramics, Graphics, Art Pedagogy, Art History, Painting, and Sculpture
